About Matt

I am still as passionate about photography as the day I started. I still get nervous with excitement before every wedding and I always try to keep pushing for my photos to be better than the last. I believe that wedding photography is one of the most important aspects of your day. Nothing else is as effective in its ability to transport you back to the memorable moments you experienced. For each wedding, my vision is to create something unique and personal to you. I like to get in the mix with the people and places I shoot, letting things happen naturally and capturing the moments as they unfold. I believe that this is the best way for each image to take you back to that moment in perhaps 5, 10 or 20 years down the road. My values are simple, I want to create an experience where you feel comfortable, relaxed and well looked after. I understand that a wedding is a massive venture so I’ll try to make sure I can do my best to eliminate any stress and to keep anything I do very open and honest. I feel that this is essential to creating beautiful images. My commitment to you is delivering work of the highest quality that will last to be enjoyed by future generations.

Vision

I believe in letting things flow and whilst I photograph the majority of your day from a journalistic perspective, I try to make your photos look like they’re from a cinematic film rather than a documentary.

The quiet, in-between moments at weddings are always my favourite; seeing the nervous apprehension and excitement at the same time. I love feeling the mood change in the room just before the ceremony, or the happiness on the dance floor and the reactions to the speeches.

I also want to take epic portraits of the newly married couple. I constantly search for creative composition and amazing light, but ultimately I am interested in capturing who you are and your connection with each other. I am interested in real emotion, real expressions and real smiles. I want my images to reflect your personalities, maintaining the true feeling and realness of the day. For me, wedding photography is about making images that mean something to you rather than just a pretty picture. I love getting to know my couples and will encourage new ideas and collaboration to discover how my style can be effectively utilised. Together we can make something for you to remember exactly how you felt on your wedding day.

Packages

Let’s keep this simple - I offer 3 different packages to suit everything you might want from a wedding photographer. All include me capturing your wedding for the whole day, with each level of package including additional albums and print products at preferential rates.

I try not to have a specific time limit at weddings (it's something we can work out between us), but I believe in being there all day, starting around two hours before the ceremony and an hour into dancing. All weddings are different and I don't want to assume yours follows any template, I try to be as flexible as I can.

A Book to cherish

Fine Art Albums

My albums are design the old fashioned way. I spend a lot of time placing each photo perfectly to retain the flow of the story. I don’t scrimp on page numbers as it is impossible to do them justice with just a few photos - In my opinion this is how you wedding should be remembered. There’s a reason why stories have been told in books for so long, don’t let your wedding end up in a folder on some hard drive somewhere. Just think, how many external hard drives from 10 years ago do you plug into your computer today?

I find it works best if I design and select images to start with, but you have full control and can add or take away whatever you want. Pre-designing just speeds up the process.

All albums as standard include - A4 size, 20 spreads, archival ink printed on fine art paper, your choice of cover, 22 carat gold foiling.
